Have a Spooktacular Halloween

Be nice to the little ones tonight and provide them with candy. I hate the snot-nosed adolescents who come to the door without even wearing a costume. They say something they think is spry or witty, and I feel like slamming the door in their faces. I've buckled but haven't failed to ask, "Where's your costume?" If they really irritate me, I might say something like, "I see your dressed as a bumkin this year."

Here's a video of a band whose sound I dig but singer's voice can go. Like what Trent Reznor does before his shows, this has a little, let's just say, human masochism (probably spelled wrong) to it.

You make a great point, PJ. Thanks to you, I'm not gonna give an ounce of candy to anyone who's not wearing a proper costume.

Have a slammin' weekend!

I think Bela is spelled with just one L.

Thomas ...

THE Bela Lugosi is spelled with just one 'L'. My email is Bella ... after my cat. She's a beautiful vampire kitty!

Bella in Italian is 'Beautiful'.

Oh, there was my problem. I swear you said it was Bela with one 'L'. I'm already lazy enough as it is and wrote like a freakin' book to you last time. Hopefully, it's still in my sent box where I can copy and paste. This means that some other person knows half my life story. Oh, boy.

Did you guys have fun last night?

Ruh-roh ... someone knows your life story but it's not me! :-P I cannot wait to read said novel!

Now, I'm off to delete my emails from your comments.

We did have fun last night. We had a group event for 9/11. Willie Nelson is a Truther so we spread the word outside his concert as the crowd dispersed.

My favorite part of the evening was when a guy my age came up to me and told me the following in a very low voice:

"Your kids are retarded and they will never go to college."

My reply? With a big smile I said, "Gee thanks, that's so kind of you to say. Although ... I don't have kids!".

I think I shocked him a little with my comeback because he obviously was expecting me to shout at him. I engaged him in brief conversation about the truth and intrigued him. By the time he had walked away he didn't know what to think! lol

What about you?

Hmm. This guy didn't seem to have all his bearings. I would've responded with my usual sarcasm: "I guess you're a genius and will never require assistance from someone else." That's not the best one, but trust me, anytime someone tries to condescend me, that person might tell me to go to Hell, but I'll show the way.

I took it relatively easy yesterday evening (gave candy out to the carpet crawlers, walked on the treadmill for the entirety of Bill Maher's show).

My plans are more ambitious today (a matinee of "Zach & Miri Make a Porno" and a visit to my favorite restaurant, Friday's).

I went out last night with Robin. Yes, we're talking again and everyone asks, "Are you getting back together?" I don't know. Nothing in life is certain. It was pretty fun. We went to a club I should've gone all along. There were a lot of free-spirited people there and it had a Bohemian vibe to it. I'm about ready to watch Nebraska play, and my friends are down after Georgia suffered another beat down to Florida.

Friday's is a good one. My favorite is still Old Country Buffet.

Don't give yourself a hard time, mister. I cannot remember how long you said the two of you were together but I know it was quite a few years.

It's hard to separate completely after being together for so long. So much dependency develops because you have looked at this person as your partner-in-crime.

You two kids will figure it out. For now -- just have FUN! Enjoy the warmth and giddiness of the semi-newness.

Hope you had a good rest of the weekend.
