Barack pledges to restore the 'American Promise'

There's no doubt last night's speech by Barack Obama will be one discussed years from now. I'm confident there won't be another political event like it. There were many topics he addressed -- health care, national security, ridding dependence from foreign oil for clean coal and other alternative sources, and provided some tough talk to those who are using the same failed policies and wanting to continue them. His judgement is unparallel to this point. Co-sponsoring the Non-Proliferation Act with Conservative Dick Lugar, Ethics Reform, opposing the Iraq invasion from the outset, streamlining medical records for veterans returing home, and asking us to tell government what we need. Enough of my interjecting into this. Here's Barack's acceptance to be our next President of the United States and speech from last night. Enjoy.

Obama's speech was incredible and I confess to getting a bit misty-eyed during the latter portion of it.

I bet you wished you lived a mere 90 miles from where the Rep convention is taking place as I do. I'm looking at their schedule right now which says that Dubya and Vader will both be speaking on Monday. What does that tell you? Damn.

I hate to say this, but when Dubya's speaking, I'll probably be watching the season premiere of "Prison Break".

You're kidding. The perception is already there for everyone. McCain has persistently attacked Obama on inexperience. Now, he selects a woman already marred in controversy for firing her ex-brother-in-law with no national experience. G.W. and Vader (old scrunch face) talking at the event. What does that tell you? No change. More of the same.

One final thing Thomas. I'd be so tempted to go to that event just to get the Repubs stirred up.

Sheet! Dubya's not gonna speak tonight because of the hurricane. What will we do with ourselves, PJ?

I actually was in the Twin Cities area yesterday afternoon at an amusement park, but didn't see any obvious Republicans there. The one political shirt I did see was a black lady wearing an Obama one. :)
